The Student visa is typically granted for the duration of your course. However, the visa is renewable as long as you still qualify for the visa.
To maintain the visa and be eligible to apply for future visas, you will need to complete your course.
You may be able to take a portion of your course work remotely, however you may have a difficult time obtaining a visa in Colombia if the government entity does not feel you need the visa to complete your studies.
To obtain a student visa in Colombia you will first need to apply and enroll in courses at an accredited institution in Colombia. After successfully enrolling in courses, you'll need obtain a certificate of enrollment and to apply through the Cancilleria's website.
The cost of a the nomad visa in Colombia is approximately $63USD. This includes a $12 fee for the Cancillería to "study" the visa and a $51 USD to receive the visa.
